Kantoke Dinner at the “Wang Num Ping” House
(20 - 50 people)
Kantoke Dinner at the Tabpaya House
(20-60 people)
- Guests arrive in an entertaining convoy of
"Tuk-Tuks" with an official police escort to clear the traffic. (A
boat transfer is another attractive option, the venue being on a
river)
- The entrance pathway is lined with flickering
oil lamps
- Guests are greeted by 2 hostesses with
fragrant neck garlands and guided to “Baan Kammung” an antique
Northern Thai family house
- Cocktails are served from trays, and a
3-piece Thai traditional band plays soft music. Guests are free to
stroll around the elegant house, which reflects the typical living
style of bygone days.
- Guests are then escorted down to the garden,
which is set up "Kantoke" style with triangular cushions. The stage
and dance floor has an ancient rice barn as a backdrop, and a natural
roof of lovely rain trees, which are several hundred years old.
- Drinks are served, and a 6-piece Thai band
plays pleasing traditional tunes
- The “Welcome Dance” is performed whereby a
food tray (Kantoke) is carried by the lead dancers, and guests are
served with an explanation of the various dishes.

- The lovely “Ram Wong” dance is performed to
close the show, with guests invited to join in.
- Guests are invited to place a “Good Luck”
token or a personal message on paper lanterns before they are ignited,
and propelled slowly into the night sky where they can be seen for
several minutes.
- The hostesses escort guests to the pathway
where waiting Tuk-Tuks drive passengers to the Night Bazaar for
shopping, or back to hotel as required. (Pedal rickshaws or a boat
transfer to the Night Bazaar is another pleasant option)
Kantoke evening at Galae House (Art Museum)
(50 - 200 people)

Hotel by Tuk-Tuk for the short 5-minute drive to Galae
House

The very old trees in this lovely area
are decorated with traditional lanterns, and 6 guards in traditional
Lanna costumes escort the guests through a garden walkway lit by oil
lamps.

Hostesses greet the guests with scented
neck garlands

A colourful 'local market" serves local hors d'oeuvres and
traditional snacks for guests to enjoy, accompanied by cocktails and
soft music from a 6-piece Thai orchestra. Guests are seated Kantoke
style with triangular cushions.

The “Welcome Dance” is performed with the traditional food tray
(Kantoke) brought in by the lead dancers simultaneously serving and
entertaining the guests. Staff members explain the different local
dishes.

The “Ram Wong” dance is performed to close the show, and guests
are invited to join in

The guests assist in launching hot air lanterns after attaching a
little note of “Good Luck” The lanterns remain visible against the
night sky for several minutes as they drift upwards.

Transfer to Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, or back to the hotel if
required.

End of the event
East Meets West Dinner” at Twelve Gables House
(60 - 250 people)
- Guests arrive by road, and are escorted down
a pathway illuminated by oil lamps. They pass through a big wooden
entrance gate, and on to the spacious front lawn of the house.
- Two hostesses greet the arrivals, and present
perfumed neck garlands. A baby elephant also joins this welcoming
party, and photographs are taken (which are developed during the
evening and presented to guests before they leave)
- Guests enter the imposing house and are wel
comed by the owner, Mr. Gary Dilley. They are free to walk around
this uniquely impressive teakwood property, which contains Mr.
Dilley's private collection of antiques and Oriental art. Cocktails
are served from trays
- Guests descend to the lawn and are seated at
elegant candlelit tables set with local fabrics, and embellished with
exquisite flower arrangements.
- A 6-piece traditional Thai orchestra and a
6-piece Western band provide a unique variety of music, performed on a
decorated elevated stage.
- Dinner is served, course by course, as per
menu requirements agreed.
- All staff wear Thai gala uniforms
- After coffee, the Thai show commences with a
large procession, and sedan chairs. As the performance progresses, it
slowly and subtly transforms into a blend of Western tunes and modern
rhythm
- The two bands now play together in a
thoroughly entertaining mix of Thai and Western music, exchanging
spirited solo performances.
- At the end of the show, the Western band
carries on to encourage dancing.
- For those who wish to relax instead, brandy
and cigars are served in the big living room
- To conclude the evening, hot air lanterns are
prepared, and the guests are invited to attach personal messages to
the fragile craft before they float into the night sky and finally
disappear.

"Around the World”
Take a trip around the world and enjoy delicious from the four corners
of the globe. During dinner the entertainment ranges from a Chinese dragon
dance to rock and roll. Food stalls are sep representing different parts
of the world such as Asia, American, Europe and India.
Entertainments includes a b anjo band during dinner, Chinese dragon
dance, cabaret show, a band performing a rock and roll show, an Indian
music show and Chiang Mai ballet.
"Italian Night"
The evening takes place around the small pool, which has been decorated
to resemble an Italian piazza with many lights and traditional Italian
colors. Entertainment includes a cabaret show and 5 piece
band.
